Welcoming a baby can bring so much at once: excitement, uncertainty, exhaustion, joy, and plenty of questions along the way. We believe the people supporting you during this season should make things feel a little lighter, not add more to your plate.
At Serendipitous Doula, our approach is personal, practical, and grounded in evidence-based guidance. We're here to listen before we advise, offer reassurance without judgment, and step in where we're needed most.
Sometimes that means answering questions or helping you understand your options. Sometimes it's comfort measures through labour, caring for your baby while you sleep, preparing something to eat, folding a load of laundry, or simply recognizing that what you need most in that moment is a little space to breathe.
Good support is knowing when to step in, when to guide, and when to simply be there.

Serendipitous Doula
I've always been someone who takes care of people.
As the oldest in a large family, caring for babies and children came naturally long before becoming a doula was ever on my radar. Becoming a mother myself gave me an entirely different understanding of just how much care a family can need while welcoming a baby.
I became a doula because I wanted families to have the kind of support that feels genuine: someone who will listen without judgment, give you an honest answer when you need one, help you understand your options, and roll up their sleeves when there's something that needs doing.
That same philosophy is what I've built Serendipitous Doula around. As we've grown into a team, I'm intentional about choosing doulas who understand that good care isn't one-size-fits-all. Every family is different, and our job is to meet you where you are.
My hope is that when one of our doulas leaves your home or birth space, you feel a little more confident, a little more cared for, and a little less weighed down than before we arrived.

The doulas who represent Serendipitous Doula are chosen for more than what's written on a résumé. We look for people who are warm, dependable, open-minded, and genuinely understand the privilege of being welcomed into a family's birth or postpartum space.
Our doulas bring their own personalities and experiences to their work, but we share the same approach: listen first, support without judgment, stay within our scope, and provide thoughtful care that adapts to the family in front of us.
