However this chapter begins, we're here to support you every step of the way
Postpartum is a season of healing, adjustment, and finding your new rhythm. With the right support, you can feel confident, nurtured, and reassured as you settle into life with your baby.

What to expect from your postpartum doula
-
Compassionate, Personalized Support: Every postpartum journey is different, and your support should reflect that. Your doula will meet you where you are with reassurance, practical guidance, and care tailored to your family's needs, so each visit leaves you feeling a little lighter, cared for, and more confident moving forward.
-
Newborn Care with Confidence: Whether you're learning to feed, soothe, diaper, or settle your baby, your doula will offer hands-on guidance and reassurance so you can build confidence in caring for your newborn.
-
Supporting Your Recovery: Your recovery matters, too. Your doula will support your physical and emotional wellbeing while helping create space for you to rest, recover, and adjust to life after birth.
-
Feeding Support That Meets You Where You Are: However you choose to feed your baby, you'll be supported without judgment. Your doula can offer guidance with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, positioning, and feeding routines.
-
Practical Help Around the Home: Sometimes the most helpful support is simply having less to do. Your doula can help with light tidying, laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and other everyday tasks so you can focus on yourself and your baby.
-
Rest When You Need It Most: Whether during the day or overnight, your doula can care for your baby while you rest, knowing they're being cared for by someone you trust.
-
Support for the Whole Family: Welcoming a new baby changes life for everyone. Your doula can help partners and older siblings adjust while supporting your family as you find your new rhythm together.
-
Trusted Resources When You Need Them: When something falls outside your doula's scope, we'll help connect you with trusted local professionals and resources so you know where to turn for additional support.
Ottawa Client Experiences
"We were fortunate enough to have Lidia for both labour and postpartum care and we consider ourselves so lucky! I am a first time mom and had a lot of emotions during labour - from excitement to nervousness as the labour progressed. Lidia met me where I was at and provided the support, comfort, empathy, and knowledge I needed at each turn of events. She’s also overall just great company to have and has such a fun and easygoing personality!
Postpartum with her has been equally amazing. She comes ready to answer all of our questions and is eager to take whatever load she can off of our shoulders (cooking, laundry, help with dishes, support with the baby, etc). She has provided us with so many valuable tips, tricks and information to help make this transition into parenthood easier. I would absolutely recommend Lidia to support you for this very big chapter of your life."

"I’m not sure if I would describe Lidia as a Doula or as an angel! From the moment Lidia entered our home to provide us with postpartum care she brought nothing but positivity and joy into to our home.
While caring lovingly for our son as though he is her own, and caring for mom and though she is her best friend - Lidia truly is a master at what she does and makes you feel supported and understood every step of the way. Her tremendous support also includes cooking healthy meals and snacks for the whole family, which is such an amazing bonus to the quality of care she provides.
I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula or a postpartum doula. Thank you, Lidia! "

Frequently
Asked
Questions
What does a postpartum doula do during a visit? During a visit, a postpartum doula offers hands-on support tailored to your needs. This can include newborn care, feeding support, light household tasks (laundry, cleaning bottles and dishes), meal prep and making sure you have time to rest, recover, and feel supported.
How soon after birth can I book postpartum doula support? You can begin postpartum doula support as soon as you’re home from the hospital or within the first few days after birth. Booking in advance is recommended to ensure availability and a smooth start to support.
Will you help with older children and siblings? Absolutely, I can offer support with older children so you can rest and focus on your recovery and your new baby. This might include engaging them in activities or helping ease the transition as your family adjusts.
Do you help with meal prep and light housework? Yes, I can help with light household tasks like tidying and laundry, as well as meal prep. I enjoy cooking nourishing meals and, when possible, preparing freezer meals for you to have on hand so you can focus on resting, recovering, and caring for your baby.
How many hours or visits do most Ottawa families book? Most Ottawa families book anywhere from a few visits a week to more regular daily support, depending on their needs. Every family is different, so we can create a plan that feels right for you.
Can I purchase postpartum hours as a baby shower gift? Absolutely! Whether you're hoping to gift postpartum doula hours to a loved one or add them to your own baby registry, we’ve got you covered. Get in touch with us to learn how easy it is to set this up!
Do you help with breastfeeding and bottle feeding? Of course! I offer non-medical feeding support for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding. This can include helping with positioning, troubleshooting common challenges, and making sure you feel confident and supported with your feeding journey.
