Whether it's your first or fourth birth, you'll find comfort here
Birth is one of life's most transformative experiences, and no two journeys are ever the same. That's why having the right support matters. Whether your birth unfolds exactly as planned or takes an unexpected turn, the Serendipitous Doula team is here to provide evidence-based guidance, practical support, and a calm, steady presence so you can feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.

Your birth, every step of the way
-
Continuous, Steady Support: From pregnancy through birth, your doula is there with steady, continuous support. Whether you need reassurance, encouragement, or simply a calm presence beside you, your care will adapt to what you need in the moment.
-
Comfort Measures that Adapt With You: From positioning and massage to breathing techniques and counterpressure, your doula will help you explore comfort measures that work for you. As labour changes, your support changes with it.
-
Guidance for Informed Decisions: Birth can bring unexpected decisions. Your doula can help you understand your options, ask questions, and find reliable information so you feel confident making choices that are right for you and your baby.
-
Support for Your Birth Partner: Your doula is there for your partner, too. We can offer guidance, reassurance, and practical ways for them to stay involved so they can support you with confidence while still experiencing the birth alongside you.
-
A Calm, Reassurance Presence: Labour can be unpredictable, but your support shouldn't be. Your doula brings a calm, reassuring presence to the room, helping you stay grounded and supported as labour unfolds.
-
A Postpartum Follow-Up: Our support doesn't end when your baby arrives. Your doula will check in after birth to see how you're doing, answer questions, and offer guidance and reassurance as you settle into life with your new baby.
What Families Are Saying
"Lidia was an absolute blessing during the birth of my baby boy. From the moment we connected, she made me feel supported, heard, and completely at ease. Her calming presence and encouragement helped me stay strong through every stage of labor. She knew exactly when to step in with comfort measures and when to gently guide me, and that made all the difference in my birth experience.
If you’re looking for a doula who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond, Lidia is the one."

"We used Lidia's services for birth as well as postpartum recovery, and we've already extended our time with her once and definitely plan to keep working with her in the future. Her involvement in our journey has been truly priceless. Even before our daughter was born, Lidia shared a wealth of valuable resources, guided us on how to prepare for labor, and helped us figure out exactly what products we'd need for our newborn. She answered all of our questions with so much patience, giving my husband and me the confidence we needed to feel ready for parenthood.
During labor, she was an absolute rock, giving great advice and helping us navigate the entire birth with as much positivity and peace as possible. Once we got home, her postpartum support was just as amazing. Lidia is incredibly proactive, she anticipates what needs to be done before you even have to ask. On a personal level, she was a lifesaver with breastfeeding and pumping.
Our baby girl absolutely adores her. Lidia is such a bright, positive soul, deeply competent, and always eager to share her knowledge to help new parents thrive. We cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for compassionate, top-tier doula care."

Meet Lidia,
Founder of Serendipitous Doula
An empathetic doula who always keeps it real
Birth is transformative. A balance of backbone and flexibility, evidence-based knowledge and light-hearted conversation. As your doula, I am here to ensure you feel fully supported, both emotionally and physically, as you prepare to welcome a new baby into your life.
With one to two in-home visits before the arrival of your baby, we'll get to know each other. You will learn pain-management techniques to help while you labour at home, stages of labour, and what to expect no matter where you choose to birth your baby. After delivery, I will be there as you navigate the newborn transition.
I offer one in-home visit and you can choose to book as many postpartum hours as you wish.

Frequently
Asked
Questions
What is a doula? A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They don’t offer medical care, but work alongside healthcare providers to help families feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their experience.
Do you support home births as well as hospital births? Absolutely! I support at hospitals such as Queensway Carlton Hospital, The Ottawa Hospital (Civic), Hopital Montfort and Amonte General Hospital. I also support births at the Ottawa Birth & Wellness Centre
Can my partner still be involved if I have a doula? Absolutely. I support both you and your partner, not replace them. Your partner remains your main support person, while I help guide, reassure, and offer practical suggestions so they feel more confident and involved throughout the experience.
What happens if I have a C-section? During a C-section, I will be there to provide emotional support and help you understand what to expect. I may not be in the operating room, but I will support your partner and will be there afterward to help with recovery, feeding, and newborn care.
When should I hire a doula? You can hire a doula at any point, but earlier in pregnancy is ideal to get the full range of support. Booking in advance also helps ensure availability and gives you time to build a strong, supportive relationship.
What happens if I go into labour and my doula is unavailable? If I’m unavailable when you go into labour (for example, due to another birth or an emergency), I have trusted backup doulas who are aligned with how I support my clients. You’ll still receive consistent, compassionate care throughout your experience.
